Students of 3rd of ESO were encouraged to visit different websites such as BBC, The Fox, CNN, The New York Times, etc. Most of them came across a piece of news in English for the first time. They got to know what press in English was like and they could read the main headlines of the day.
Aside from overlooking at the press, they were asked to carry out a task. Actually, they chose a piece of news that struck their attention, and work on it from different points of view. First, they had to take a piece of news, read it and summerize it in 50 words. Once they got it done, they had to identify the present perfect verb tense and underline it. Also, they were asked to include a video related with the topic and make a short glossary of the new words they had to look up to understand what the piece of news was about.
