A piece of news!

Students of 3rd of ESO were encouraged to visit different websites such as BBC, The Fox, CNN, The New York Times, etc. Most of them came across a piece of news in English for the first time. They got to know what press in English was like and they could read the main headlines of the day. Aside from overlooking at the press, they were asked to carry out a task. Actually, they chose a piece of news that struck their attention, and work on it from different points of view. First, they had to take a piece of news, read it and summerize it in 50 words. Once they got it done, they had to identify the present perfect verb tense and underline it. Also, they were asked to include a video related with the topic and make a short glossary of the new words they had to look up to understand what the piece of news was about.

Here you can see some of their presentations.

Who made a change in your life?

Students of 2nd of ESO were asked to think of a person that had an impact on their lifes. This was actually the only constraint they had to bear in mind when choosing.

As a matter of fact, students created a presentation about the person and they were asked to think of three questions they would like to ask to this person. Also, they included a Youtube video in order to introduce the person to all the class.

They did an excellent job!

Halloween 2016

HALLOWEEN 2016-2017

“Be silent in that solitude,
Which is not loneliness—for then
The spirits of the dead, who stood
In life before thee, are again
In death around thee, and their will
Shall overshadow thee; be still.”

From “Spirits of the Dead” by Edgar Allan Poe

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a blast at school preparing Halloween decorations. See how it looks like... Is it scary?

Let's get it started!

A good way to start off the first term of the school year is to learn how our day at school will be like. Students of 1st of ESO started learning how to express their routines and vocabulary related with school subjects.

We thought it would be great that students created their timetables with their daily routines. Thus, students could explain to their classmates what they do after school and talk about their hobbies.

Here you can see their faces and how much proud they are of their work!

ESO English projects (2nd term)

Students of 1st of ESO were asked to cook a recipe and record themselves so as to let us see how they prepared it. They prepared yummy smoothies and desserts! Check them out and watch their videos!

Students form 2nd of ESO had to look up information about endangered animals. They chose by groups animals which were in danger and prepared presentations to make everyone aware of it.

Restaurants around the world

Students of 1st of ESO were suggested to create their own restaurants in groups. They could choose the type of restaurant they liked as long as they prepared an amazing menu for the customers. Here you have how our wall looked like and how much effort they put in it! Enjoy it!

Students doing the oral presentations. Some of them even brought food from their restaurants!
